PwK glitched? (in a good way)
I hate to bring this to Anet's attention, but sooner or later they'd find out.
If you're holding Protective Was Kaolai, your party gets the heal from it when it expires, even if you don't drop it. I'd like to see all ashpots do this. Tested the others and none of them have this effect.

When a set of ashes' duration expire, you automatically drop them. =/

When ashes expire, they go away, but ordinarily they do not create the effect that they should. I also tested this, and while Protective was Kaolai did give a party heal, neither Generous was Tsungrai nor Anguished was Lingwah created their effect (a self-heal and a created spirit, respectively).
Many item spells will trigger their effect if you die. Lively was Naomei, interestingly enough, is a self-rez that will bring YOU back with your teammates upon your death. Similarly, Anguished was Lingwah will create a Spirit of Pain at your location if you die with it. But as I said before, if it "times out" it will not create said effect.
So yeah, I guess this is a bug.

I haven't tested this in particular right now, but i've been playing Rt ever since Factions and no - unless you drop ashes, you dont get their bonus if they simply expire.

Yeah I noticed that about PwK too and I really like it, since I always forget to click drop. I agree it would be nice if all items worked like that. I would also like to be able to drop items while knocked down (and also while casting but that's wishful thinking...). I don't see any reason why not.

After I noticed the same thing with PwK, I hoped they'd changed all the ashpots to be like that! Sadly not...
I think we should say PwK is fine, and it's the others that are bugged!
